Tech Women Inspire was conceived to inspire, educate, disrupt popular beliefs and permanently transform Belgian society. Based on the belief that digital skills, benefits and jobs should be accessible to all, the Tech Women Inspire event celebrates the women who dream of being an integral part of the digital world, and those who have already achieved this dream. Organised in four cycles, Tech Women Inspire aims to meet the needs of different audiences. The first cycle will target women who are orienting or reorienting their careers towards the digital environment. These women will have the opportunity to meet digital professionals from reputable companies in the sector during two speed-dating sessions. Through a series of short individual exchanges, participants will be able to ask the professionals the questions that are most important to them (career paths, the appeal of the sector, job security). The second cycle will target female students in higher education. In collaboration with universities and colleges in Belgium, Womenpreneur will organise two conferences for students, especially those on first degree courses. These conferences will be led by digital professionals in order to present their careers, discuss their work, but also talk about gendered representations of the digital world. These presentations will make both male and female students aware of the current biases in our society, and will encourage everyone to challenge the established conventions. The third cycle will take place in primary schools. Digital professionals will visit primary school classes to present their day-to-day work in a simple and visual way. These visits will show professional role models who are far from the gender stereotypes that may be portrayed in a company. The fourth cycle will target women entrepreneurs. The chosen entrepreneurs will be invited to spend a week with digital experts who will give them individual guidance on how to digitise their business. During the training week, a campaign will be run on Womenpreneur’s social networks to highlight the lessons learned from the course and the digital expert. During the week following the course, a new campaign will showcase the entrepreneur and her business.
