Initiatives

Our members need bridge-builders, people who have a basic knowledge of IT and digital but who can also make the link to the business side. Our aim is to get people who have studied psychology, law, languages, history, and so on – non-STEM subjects – into our sectors via a postgraduate programme.

At the same time, there is a great need for female staff and our target is to bring at least 50% female students on board. The VUB and ULB are launching a postgraduate Women in IT programme starting in the 2022-23 academic year. The initiative aims both to boost the intake of women into IT jobs and to alleviate the acute shortage of IT professionals.

The course will last one year and will offer places to twenty students, at least half of whom must be women. It is taught in English and is a joint initiative of the two Brussels universities VUB and ULB, with the express support of Febelfin, Agoria, and its francophone sister organisation FEB.
